Privacy & Data
Limited website analytics. No Cat vs Dot user profiling.
Cat vs Dot uses narrowly scoped website download analytics to understand which public software builds are being requested and their approximate geographic distribution.
Software download analytics
For a software download request, Cat vs Dot may record the software file, product/version metadata, date and time, an internal source label, and an approximate country, state/province/region, and city derived from the network connection.
The raw IP address used for the geographic lookup is not retained in Cat vs Dot's download analytics database. Cat vs Dot download analytics do not use cookies, hashed IP addresses, persistent visitor identifiers, advertising IDs, or browser fingerprinting.
Approximate location
Geographic results are approximate IP-based locations. They are not a street address or precise device location, and some requests may resolve only to a country or region or may not resolve at all.
For the internal download map, Cat vs Dot converts the temporary GeoIP result into a coarse map position. The source IP and latitude/longitude are not retained in the download analytics database.
Software telemetry
Cat vs Dot does not add Cat vs Dot-operated user-behavior telemetry to its software products. Some products use open-source foundations that may include functionality required by those underlying platforms or services. Product documentation describes relevant behavior where applicable.
Hosting infrastructure
The website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. Infrastructure and security logs maintained by the hosting provider are separate from Cat vs Dot's download analytics database and may be subject to the provider's own operational retention practices.
